About the program

Training Horses from anatomical perspective. This training focuses on the equine skeleton and how the anatomical parts function, as all parts are interrelated and should be considered as a functioning unit.

It is essential to think about how the skeleton and muscles work so people working with horses can get the training of these structures correct, which helps with performance and reducing injuries.

This training gives an overview of the musculature system and provides in-depth information on training categories for the horse, including rehabilitation and injury prevention.

Horse racing is important to a high proportion of the population in terms of spectator enjoyment and economic impact. However, horse racing as a sport can expose horses to physical and psychological harm.

Growing scientific research into racehorse welfare and racehorse injuries is gaining much credence. This specific training is recommended to be undertaken by all racing trainers in Dubai as a sound education platform for developing a coherent framework of high welfare within its horse racing industry.

We are not suggesting this does not currently exist, but this training is unique in that it specifically addresses the care of racehorses within the context of ‘The Five Freedoms’ framework. It also goes beyond that to incorporate considerations of positive welfare and underlying ethical issues. ‘The Five Freedoms’ were first proposed in England in the 1960's. Other bodies have also approved the Freedoms on an international platform.

Now in England the Animal Welfare of 2006 governs animal welfare based on ‘The Five Freedoms’.
